Introducing my son

Brautie "Ditto" Garcia
Many moons ago I helped raise this wonderful little boy. I loved him at first sight with a mother’s instinct even though I wasn’t a mom then. And he adopted me as his Mama, even though he had his own.  He was barely three years old then. We spent many weekends together, baking cookies and going to the park and zoo. When he was a little older we would spend summers together. He would go to camp and I to work, then I would pick him up and he would play in the yard or ride his bike enjoying life as every little boy does.

Then he got even older and we became even closer. But I moved away and out of his life and broke his little heart.  It took a lot of courage, and the determination of his sweet wife, and after 20 years we were reunited. We exchanged a lot of emails and shared what was in our hearts and decided to move forward with a brand new start.

When I first saw him at the airport my knees buckled and I began to cry. All I could do was hug him, look at him, and hug him some more. We had the best visit. He got reacquainted with his sisters, and acquainted with their boys. And my new little grandson Matthew fit right in with Demitri (whom he insists is his brother).

So my little family unit continues to grow as I now have another grandson and a great daughter-in-law.

I love you Ditto.
