Musings on a windy Thursday in February

Ever wonder about people? I mean really wonder... what's inside their head, what they're thinking?

A world of color and other strange things going through my head:

I'm home in bed with what seems to be strep throat (test result doesn't come back until Monday). I think the stress ran me to the ground. But, here are some things that made me feel a little better about being laid up:

1. Rocco keeping me close company all day
2. Mugs of very hot chai tea
3. Springsteen Live in Dublin on my ipod
4. John taking care of me
5. Elizabeth’s sweet comforting words, Rosemary’s compassion
6. Remembering Adrienne’s call from Mexico yesterday
7. Demitri “calling” me… then saying bye and hanging up.
8. The glass of Cono Sur vineyards Pinot Noir that I had. It’s my new favorite vineyard. I also like the Chardonnay, and especially the Riesling.

Even though The scale at the doctor's office was my friend, I looked awful today. The mirror showed me; I told John; he agreed. And I stunk (what, too much info?). Note to self: wash hair every day. I’m fresh and clean now, but I still look like crap.

Today should have been a chocolate day. But I don't like chocolate. Even so, I like to keep a chunk or bar of very dark chocolate in the house. Every now and then a small bite is very satisfying for some reason. Today would have been one of those days, but I have trouble swallowing and not much appetite. A piece of soft, organic, 100% whole wheat bread was a much better idea.

Thinking about all these things and posting them on my blog from the comfort of my bed. Thank God for laptops.
