Talk about ups and downs! This has been one of those weeks. On Monday, John and I rode our bikes for just 15 or so miles. After just about 15 minutes into our ride, I decided to draft off him and got too close. Remembering what he taught me about drafting and distances, I tried to back off... but everything about my position was wrong and I went onto the road shoulder which was grass. That would have been fine if I had hit the breaks and clipped off. But instead I tried to get back onto the road... the break off (or whatever you call it) was about 3 or 4 inches and... well the rest is history... off I went... fortunately, I just got some road burns (really relatively minor). I insisted in continuing the ride despite my bleeding knee, a helpful store clerk, and a medic-deficient volunteer fire department along the route. It was a magnificent evening/ride/time.
My husband is so patient and kind! He let me go on after I declined his offer to go get the car and we had a wonderful time together.
Speaking of husband, he has been traveling all week... Monday local, but Tuesday and Wednesday in DC (I was in DC on Wednesday as well so we got to ride together) and today in Delaware. God bless him, he works so hard!
