This Man of Mine

("borrowed" from Sarah at Shortstop)

The man that I’m madly in love with after 18 years of marriage and 3 years of dating:

1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen? He NEVER sits in front of the TV (was that emphatic enough?).

2. You're out to eat, what kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Ranch.

3. What's one food he doesn't like? Peas and cooked tomatoes. Don’t ever, ever give this man cooked tomatoes, or eat them at the same meal as he, or even display them at the same table.

4. You go out to the bar. What does he order? A Microbrew or two.

5. Where did he go to high school? Loyola, a private Catholic school in Towson, MD.

6. What size shoe does he wear? 10½. Is this just to test and see if I know? Because otherwise it seems highly irrelevant.

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? It used to be old cameras (we have tons of them). If he could afford it, it would be old sports cars that he could restore.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? Grilled chicken. He has a grilled chicken sandwich everywhere he goes.

9. What would he eat every day if he could? Grilled chicken sandwich.

10. What is his favorite cereal? He goes back and forth between Frosted Mini Wheat and Honey Nut Cheerios.

11. What would he never wear? Seersucker, whitie-tighties, black socks and sneakers, dress shoes and shorts (really folks, we see this all the time).

12. What is his favorite sports team? Ugh, the Baltimore Ravens.

13. Who will he vote for? We don’t talk politics because we are SO totally on opposite sides.

14. Who is his best friend? He would say me, but we all know it’s Sandie. Rocco comes in close though.

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do? Forget things. I always forget, and he always gets mad. Oh yes, and talk loud, which I can’t help ‘cause I’m Cuban and we all talk loud and at the same time.

16. How many states has he lived in? Two, Maryland and Florida (where we met!).

17. What is his heritage? Irish!

18. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake? Strawberry Shortcake.

19. Did he play sports in high school? What didn’t he do in high school! He played football and tennis… mostly tennis. He was so good that he was banned from playing at his parent’s club because he always beat all the older men. He really should have gone pro.

20. What could he spend hours doing? Playing with his race car; fixing his race car; driving his race car; putzing with his race car. Did I mention that he loves his race car? And if ever he’s not with his beloved race car, he LOVES bike riding… road or mountain, it doesn’t matter as long as it’s a bicycle.

21. Does he belong to any men's organizations? Er, no. Unless you consider what I call the “It’s Not a Race Tuesday Night Save The Lime Bike Club” (a group of fun-loving men that meets weekly for bike rides followed by beer).

22. What else would you like the world to know about your man? That he likes to decorate our house, and loves to grill, and take our little Yorkie-Maltese Rocco for walks in the woods; that he is a hopeless romantic and has the tenderest heart of any man I know.

I'm glad to say that I knew many of these. He's the perfect match for you - in every way!
