One week after my last post, too many phone calls and emails to count, and just plain too much for one week, and still no appointment with the specialist. What it boils down to is that you are only important to yourself and to a very few close people around you... Rethink strength, for when you are strong then you are weak, and when you are weak, you find your strength. As Lance Armstrong says, "every day is precious and every step matters".
The specialist that we want to see (1) has been on vacation, (2) his helpful assistant has been advising us as to what documents he needs to review (3) it took three weeks and a personal visit to GBMC to get the paperwork that should have been faxed to our internist around July 2nd (4) our internist's office has been uncooperative about sending other necessary paperwork...
This has become my silent journal... I'm getting a better feel for who gives a crap and who doesn't. As Cathy says "WHATEVER!" ha ha ha! Cathy's strength is so encouraging.
Honey, just as Lance's cancer was "the best thing that ever happened to [him]", my accident was one of the best things that happened to me... we learned a lot through it. Hang in there and let God use this to change you in a way you didn't think possible.
BTW... Sandie and Lisie you're such good friends to your mama... you keep me laughing and plugging along and constantly give me a new perspective on things. Did you listen to the Joel Osteen CD? Great stuff and so applicable!
